BBTac is one of the best airsoft sniper brands out there so you will be lucky to own one of their rifles. However, the BT-96 was designed mostly for beginners so if you’re an expert looking for something more advanced, this is not it.
The rifle is impressive in terms of design (a 1:1 real sniper rifle replica) but the plastic body leaves room for complaints. You should also know the rifle is delivered in several pieces which you’ll have to put together. This is quite easy to do and it won’t take much time either. But, what’s a sniper without the finest pistol, to keep you safe?
I like the accessories (scope, bipod, magazine, and strap) but I strongly recommend getting a different scope if you want the best of results. I also like the speed-loader as it helps compensate for the 20 rounds magazine.
In terms of speed and accuracy, the rifle performs well for an entry-level weapon. However, the bolt seems a bit flimsy and it gives the impression that it may break. It didn’t happen yet, but it’s something to consider.
At the end of the day, the BT-96 is a good airsoft sniper rifle that, with some practice, will serve you well. It is affordable and it’s one of the best guns for beginners in the world of sniping. It feels good in your hands and it can be upgraded with a good scope. Even more, the extra-tight barrel makes it one of the most accurate rifles on the market.

The UTG Sport Gen 5 airsoft rifle comes with a good build and great accuracy. While it’s true that the stock is plastic, the material doesn’t feel cheap to touch. Also, all the other parts are full metal and the long barrel is absolutely great!
This airsoft rifle is actually a replica of the M700 (a real rifle sniper) and is part of the new 5th Generation Master Sniper line. If these don’t say much to you, maybe the adjustable hop-up, the speed loader, and a great level of accuracy will.
The hop-up is a good feature but it is difficult to adjust on the run. For instance, you can get great accuracy at 75-125 feet when you’re in a fixed position and the hop-up is set at half mark, but if you’re in a hurry and you max the hop up, the BB will curve to the right for targets under 125 feet. So, keep in mind that you’ll need to use half hop for under 125 feet and full hop for over 200 feet.
I am sure you’ll also like the bipod, the two magazines, and the smooth bolt, but you will have to buy your own scope. The top rail is ready for this so you’ll just have to find a compatible one. One thing I really like is the rubbery parts on the butt plate and bolt. These increase your grip and help you keep the rifle steady.
In my opinion, this is still a rifle for beginners, but if you want something classy in your collection, you shouldn’t ignore it. It is balanced and feels really good in your hands due to the healthy weight. The all-black design is quite impressive and I think your team mates will be a little bit jealous on your latest acquisition.
